01 The brief

Context & commission

Amazon's delivery network runs on DSPs — Delivery Service Partners, the independent operators who manage the last mile. The brief, across several projects, was to tell stories from inside that network: the people running it, building careers within it, and the initiatives happening around it.

Three projects. Three different angles on the same world.

02 What we did

The production

The first was a sustainability piece following a DSP in Cheltenham collecting and recycling Christmas trees alongside their regular delivery rounds. Small crew, light footprint, straightforward brief.

The second went deeper. A mentorship story between two DSP owners in Gloucester — one who had started as a driver, worked his way up, built his own operation, and stayed close to the man who had given him his first break. We put one camera in the cab with a wide angle lens for the driving sequences, close enough to feel like a conversation rather than something being filmed. The DSP centres were worth filming in their own right. Floor controllers directing van traffic with light wands, every driver knowing exactly where to be and when. It's quite something to watch.

The third was an International Women's Day film in Swindon. Susan ran a DSP operation in an industry where women at that level are still the exception. It was noisy in the hangar but we shot the interviews there rather than pulling her into one of those boxy little side rooms that always look terrible on camera. The scale of the space suited the story. Good mics and solid post did the rest, despite the racket.

03 The result

Three films, one operational world

Three films for one of the world's most scrutinised brands, covering sustainability, mentorship and diversity — each one telling a different story from the same operational world.

The name on the brief does a lot of work. So does knowing how to shoot an interview in a working warehouse without stopping it from working.
